Starting Off Right

One of the things we are refocusing on as we start this new year is Scripture Memorization! We'll be using these cards as well as other passages and methods in order to memorize as much scripture as we can this year! I am even putting a little extra motivation behind passage memorization for my kids. If they memorize a certain number of verses each month, they gain a meal out to eat with one of us parents. I see it as a win-win situation. They put God's word in their hearts, and I love to go on dates with them anyway! :)

It's the beginning of a new year. Time to refocus, realign priorities, and regain the proper perspective on life. Jesus is coming soon, and we have no time to lose.

"Put away the foolish reading matter and study the Word of God. Commit its precious promises to memory so that when we shall be deprived of our Bibles we may still be in possession of the Word of God." –Ms 85, 1909, p. 10. (Lessons of Self-denial, Trust and Cooperation,” Sermon preached in Nevada, Iowa, August 21, 1909.)
